Abstract
The pathogenesis of nasal polyps is supposed to be various, but as a underlying cause, inflammation is substantial, It is well known the CD4(+) T cells and CD8(+) T cell are related with inflammatory process. In order to verify the inflammatory
process
in nasal polyps, we examined 11 nasal polyps(9 atopics, 2 non-atopics) immunohistochemically. The mean number of CD4 positive cells is 3.9 cells/HPF, that of CD8 positive cells in 9.5 cells/HPF.
We concluded that inversed ratio between CD4 positive T cells and CD8 positive T cells is related with the inflammatory process in nasal polyps.
